Raw Food
How many have you have subscribed to the Raw Food Diet lifestyle? I have on and off. At times, very consistently and others not so much. However, I do love the way I feel when I am eating this way and love the way my skin and hair looks. Although I have been exercising daily and limiting my calories, something inside of me tells me this just is not the way to go.
A while back I bought Any Phyo's 15 day Fat Blast. If you are not familiar with Ani Phyo, I suggest you pick up one of her books. She is a phenomenal raw food chef. http://www.amazon.com/Anis-15-Day-Fat-Blast-Kick-Ass/dp/0738215228
I have decided that I prefer real food....whole food. So I am going to take baby steps to get back to eating raw.
I think I may also start a 30 day challenge at my Bikram Yoga Studio.....http://bikramyogairvine.com/
I'll keep you posted on how that goes too.
Now......I'm off to do some Pilates :-)

A Work in Progress
Well I officially have two days under my belt. I'm learning a lot about myself and my strengths and my pitfalls. And I am coming to terms with the fact that even if I have all the knowledge to know how to do things right ~ at the end of the day I'm still human.
Today - Cardio 30 mins on elliptical. Weights - upper body only
Food -
B-Zone Bar
S - 1/2 banana and 3 hard boiled egg whites
L- Large green salad with grilled chicken and Balsalmic dressing
S- Shaklee Cinch bar
D - I found a great website with amazing recipes and tonight I made the garlic/lime shrimp with brown rice.
I only hit 900 calories (which I don't recommend) I may have an apple before I go to bed.
What I learned.....I really need to drink more water. I need to get in a lot more greens and fruit.

Vegan Pumpking Muffins
I love everything Fall ~ I don't know why. Living in Southern California doesn't afford me the opportunity to really see a huge change in the seasons, but I like the idea of it. When fall comes, my cooking changes. I find myself wanting to make warming foods and spicy muffins. I recently found this recipe on a vegan website and thought I would try it out. I especially liked that it contained molasses. We don't really eat meat in our home and I always worried about my family getting enough iron. Molasses is a rich form of iron ~
So ~ here is the recipe! My family loved these!
1 3/4 cup Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
1 1/4 cup raw turbinado sugar
1 TBL baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp allspice
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1 cup organic pumpkin puree (I found mine at Trader Joe's)
1 TBL soy yogurt
1/2 cup cold pressed vegetable oil
2 TBL molasses
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Sift together dry ingredients (flour through cloves). In a seperate bowl, whisk together wet ingredients (pumpkin through molasses) Pour wet into dry and combine. Fill muffin tins 2/3 of the way. Bake 27-30 minutes. Enjoy!

Pilates and Weight Loss
Let's face it ~ We love Pilates and we love the way it makes our bodies feel.....BUT we all strive to have those toned, leaned physiques that we associate with Pilates. Unfortunatley WHAT we do is only 20% of the puzzle! Yep, I said it....20 PERCENT! The other 80% is what we EAT! uggghhh ~ so to help us all with our 80/20 rule here is a great article!

A different kind of post today!
Good Morning Friends ~
Normally I choose to post about what new Pilates routine we may be working on or a new healthy recipe, but today I have something kind of fun and differnt. I love to follow design blogs...actually recently I have become obsessed with it as I try to make my house a "home".
